In 1989, professional landscape gardener Peter Hall from Fareham , Hampshire crossed Hosta ‘Piedmont Gold' and Hosta minor. Hosta ‘Mrs Minky' is the result this match. But trialling this new Hosta with its impressive golden yellow leaves took several years before commercial production commenced. From growing on from seed, Peter had wait five years to ensure a mature plant remained true to type and that the foliage didn't revert back to the usual Hosta mid-green. He contacted Blooms New Plant Marketing after successfully growing a plant without reversion and further trials ensued over three growing seasons to ensure this beautiful new Hosta was reliable and stable.
