A beautiful double flowered cultivated form of our native Ragged Robin, Lychnis 'Jenny' has large fluffy double pink flowers with a paler centre and white markings running up into the petals.
Rainer Kretz came across this unusual Lychnis growing amongst a field of other Ragged Robin whilst on holiday in France. He successfully propagated a small piece of plant and contacted Blooms of Bressingham who took in the plant for trialing and further development. Lychnis 'Jenny', named after Rainer's wife, is introduced exclusively by Blooms New Plant Marketing, though their UK Licensee, R A Meredith (Blooms Wholesale). The plant will also be introduced at the same time in the USA by Blooms of Bressingham North America.
Flowers are borne at the top of long, straight stems reaching 75cm, making Lychnis 'Jenny' ideal for both the front of the border as a 'see-through' plant or grouped with other perennials at the back of the border. Also great as a marginal plant. Site in sun or partial shade, Lychnis 'Jenny' is a very adaptable and charming addition to any garden, flowering from early summer to early autumn.
