Rich red velvety petals, bright yellow centres, large blooms and a flowering period from June to September - this stunning new Coreopsis is a 'must-have' plant for any garden. Coreopsis 'Limerock Ruby' was discovered as a natural cross by Mary Ann Faria of Limerock Farm in Rhode Island, USA, growing amongst flagstones. The plant has been successfully trialed in the USA by Blooms of Bressingham North America and in the UK by Blooms New Plant Marketing based in Norfolk.
The rich red velvety petals of the daisy-like flowers are set off by vibrant yellow centres, combined with narrow linear foliage. Plants form a bushy upright mound flowering is continuous from mid to late summer. Red is a scarce colour for summer perennials and now sunny borders can be brightened up all summer long with this stunning new perennial. Site in full sun in free draining soil. Plants will also tolerate dry conditions. Bees and butterflies love this new Coreopsis, too!
